  • Laura (8): diagnosed neuroblastoma stage IV and now secondary acute myeloid leukaemia.   Neuroblastoma - chemotherapy followed by resection, post operative chemotherapy and autologous bone marrow transplant.  Two relapses - chemoradiotherapy completed.   • Sam (40):  Ovarian cancer, relapse pelvic, nodal and pulmonary involvement.  Also juvenile idiopathic rheumatoid arthritis, C1 & C2 fusion, right ankle and left hip replacement.  Recent hospitalization due to flare up.  Now recovered. Also note left hip replacement due for renewal.  Canada 10 days.

  • Rachael (15):  Optic pathway glioma resection followed by radiotherapy. Pituitary hormone replacement therapy ongoing.  Italy 14 days skiing.

  • Olivia (34):  Renal failure followed by kidney transplant 9 years ago. Now Burkett's lymphoma, chemotherapy completed and in remission. Travelling to USA 7 days.

  • William (71):  Mesothelioma VATS pleural tap and pleurodesis followed by radiotherapy.  Also prostate cancer, prostatectomy 5 years ago.  Glaucoma treatment ongoing. USA & Caribbean cruise 15 days.

  • Joanne (34):  Kidney cancer, left nephrectomy. Relapse pulmonary involvement interferon ongoing.  Spain 15 days.

  • Ben (7):  Ependymoma, resection followed by chemotherapy completed. Now in remission.  Florida 15 days.

  • Trevor (70):  Ocular melanoma, ocular exenteration two years ago.  Recent relapse - face, lung, liver and bony involvement.  Radiotherapy spine.  Dexamethasone ongoing.  Czech Republic for 6 days.

  • Ben (8): Parameningeal embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma.  Radiotherapy completed chemotherapy ongoing.  France for 7 days.

  • Mollie (9): Ependymoma, resection followed by radiotherapy.  Recurrence, resected again followed by chemotherapy.  Recent second recurrence, chemotherapy ongoing.  Spain for 8 days.

  • Jake (3): Rhabdomyosarcoma bladder, chemotherapy followed by resection and radiotherapy.  Relapse, pulmonary involvement, resection followed by chemotherapy. Has a urostomy.  Florida for 16 days.

  • David (65): Pleural mesothelioma, pleural tap and pleurodesis followed by radiotherapy.  Also diabetic with peripheral vascular disease. Florida for 16 days.

  • Pamela (58):  Carcinoma ovary hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo oopherectomy.  Chemotherapy ongoing.  Also under active thyroid and arthritis.  Cyprus for 14 days.

  • Clive (73): Pancreatic cancer resection followed by chemotherapy - Tarceva ongoing.  Portugal for 21 days.

  • Angus (18 months):   Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma orbit, resection and completed chemotherapy. Spain for 15 days.

  • Diane (60):  Carcinoma caecum with pulmonary, skeletal and liver involvement. Chemoradiotherapy completed. Portugal for 8 days .

  • Eileen (70):  Liver metastases and retroperitoneal nodal involvement from an unknown primary. No treatment to date but Dexamethasone, Lorazepam, Losec, Cocodamol and Naproxin ongoing.  Spain for 8 days.

  • Delia (71):  Metastatic squamous cell carcinoma pharynx, surgery and chemoradiotherapy to head and neck.  Relapse - pulmonary involvement, now observation only.  Spain for 15 days.

  • Alexandra (6):  Localised synovial sarcoma knee.  Resection, chemoradiotherapy completed. Spain for 8 days.

Allogenic bone marrow transplant.   Relapse left testicle, orchidectomy followed by radiotherapy, chemotherapy ongoing.  Florida 13 days.

  • Raymond (60):  Metastatic renal cell carcinoma with nodal and liver involvement. Triple therapy interferon, interlukin 2 and 5FU. Sunitinib ongoing.  Spain for 8 days.

  • Simon (40):  Telangiectatic osteosarcoma knee with pulmonary involvement, chemotherapy followed by resection and endoprosthesis insertion.  Lung nodules resected and completed chemotherapy.  Spain for 15 days.

  • Norman (67):  Transitional cell carcinoma bladder Chemoradiotherapy completed. Recurrence cystoprostatectomy.  Has urostomy.  Also carcinoid tumour, resected. Recent diagnosis adenocarcinoma prostate. Australia for 26 days.

  • Adam (18):  Acute myeloid leukaemia (FAB M3, promyelocytic) chemotherapy ongoing. Spain for 7 days.

  • Paul (14): Glial tumour, resection followed by radiotherapy. Spain for 10 days.

  • Jane (55): Cancer Jejunum, bypass and resection followed by chemotherapy. Relapse pulmonary involvement currently no treatment. Note also diagnosed ovarian cancer, oopherectomy followed by chemotherapy. Now considered to be secondary to the primary above. Portugal for 8 days.

  • Daniel (17): diagnosed osteosarcoma left leg with pulmonary involvement.  Resection followed by hindquarter amputation.  Chemotherapy, thoracotomy with resection of bilateral pulmonary lesions.  France 5 days.

  • David (16): diagnosed secreting germ cell pineal tumour.  3rd ventriclostomy and VP shunt.  Chemoradiotherapy VP shunt revision, recent shunt reprogram.  Florida 17 days.

  • Heather (64): diagnosed metastatic sigmoid colon cancer with liver involvement.  Resection colon right salpingo oopherectomy.   Hemihepatectomy and right posterior sectionectomy followed by chemotherapy.  Indeterminate right lung nodule and recurrent liver metastases.  Also breast cancer 1989 - mastectomy - uneventful since.  Dubai 15 days.

  • Adrian (13): Ewing's sarcoma. Leg amputation, secondaries in lung resected, chemo and radiotherapy completed. Prosthesis and also uses a wheelchair. Canada for 21 days.

  • Sarah (51): Breast cancer, lumpectomy, radio & chemotherapy. Recurrence 1995, mastectomy. Recurrence 1997, second mastectomy. Recurrence 1998 commenced Tamoxifen. June 2000 secondaries in abdomen, completed chemotherapy August 2001. Recurrence July, restarted chemotherapy & continuing. France for 4 days.

  • James (11): 1995 Brain tumour, medulloblastoma, surgery, chemo & radiotherapy. Recurrence, surgery & chemotherapy and stem cell transplant. Second recurrence, now on oral chemotherapy. Antigua for 7 days.

  • Bill (63): Colon cancer with secondaries in lungs. Resection and chemotherapy continuing. USA for 21 days.

  • Trevor (5): Diagnosed myotubular myopathy at birth. Ventilator & oxygen dependent, confined to a wheelchair, requires 24/7 nursing care. Tracheotomy & gastrostomy. EuroDisney for 5 days with wish giving charity. Travelling via ambulance.

  • John (84):  diagnosed prostate cancer.  Hormone therapy ongoing.  New Zealand 45 days.

  • Cathy (3): Diagnosed Neuroblastoma adrenal gland, also in liver, spine, pelvis, legs, arms, skull and ribs. Chemotherapy February to December 2001. Commenced MIBG therapy January 2002, rescue autologous BMT. No treatment since. USA for 19 days.

  • Harry (17): Brain tumour, Astrocytoma, January 1992. Resection at age 6 & 13 yrs, multiple pituitary deficiency. Wheel chair dependent, he is also blind and over weight. Florida for 14 days.

  • Tracy (61): Breast cancer 1998, mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.  Relapse bone and liver.  Commenced treatment and ongoing. Spain for 7 days.

  • Beth (9): Heart transplant at age 2. Lymphoma (LPD) diagnosed February 2001 completed chemotherapy September. Florida for 17 days.

  • Fran (8): Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia June 1992, ocular relapse June 1994, multiple relapses (7 of CNS). Now partial seizure due to tumour - solid lump of ALL resected followed by post op chemotherapy. Currently maintained on chemotherapy. Has Ommaya reservoir. Florida for 14 days.

  • Clare (16): Diagnosed metastatic neuroendocrine carcinoma, chemotherapy ongoing.  Holland for 5 days.

  • Josh (4): Diagnosed nasopharyngeal carcinoma.  Chemoradiotherapy and interferon. Spain for 7 days.

  • John (9): Acute Myeloid Leukaemia October 1998. Chemotherapy commenced, relapse December 1999, unrelated BMT August 2000. Second relapse, now no medication. St. Lucia for 10 days.

  • Georgina (67): Breast cancer 1994, lumpectomy and axillary clearance, post radiotherapy only. Tamoxifen to 1999.  Unconnected breast cancer 2001.  Mastectomy and radiotherapy. Recommenced Tamoxifen.  Hysterectomy 2003 polyp and fibroids. Relapse, bone secondaries. Radiotherapy and on treatment.  New Zealand for 31 days.

  • Darren (11): Wilms tumour and kidney resected. Chemotherapy completed. Barbados for 15 days.

  • Harry (8): Brain tumour, Craniopharyngioma. Resection and post operative radiotherapy completed. Now no medication for the tumour though on pituitary hormone replacement regime. Has a VP shunt. Majorca for 14 days.

  • Olivia (51): Adenocarcinoma (of an unknown primary).  Resection, ovaries and omentum. Post-operative chemotherapy completed. Spain for 7 days.

  • Isobel (2): Neuroblastoma. Complete resection, stem cell transplant, chemo and radiotherapy.  Jersey for 7 days.

  • Sam (27): Diagnosed anaplastic astrocytoma, resection and radiotherapy. Portugal for 15 days.

  • Christopher (76): Diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme, resection and radiotherapy recently completed. France for 8 days.

  • Jean (69): Diagnosed Colon cancer 3 years ago. resection, colostomy and chemotherapy. Also Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma 12 years ago. Resection and radiotherapy.  Recurrence followed by resection and radiotherapy.  Travelling to USA for 23 days.

Diagnosed Optic Glioma December 1998, treated with radiotherapy. Secondary tumour detected on Carotid gland. Resection, no chemo or radiotherapy. S. Korea for 23 days.

  • Beth (68): Breast cancer January 2001, lumpectomy and radiotherapy. Recurrence February 2002, spine, ribs, shoulder, and pelvis. Commenced Tamoxifen, Zoladex and Zometa. St. Lucia for 42 days.

  • Karen (34): Hodgkin's disease. On chemotherapy never been neutropaenic. Florida for 17 days.

  • Tony (9): Brain tumour, Choroid plexus carcinoma. Partial resection & post operative chemotherapy. EuroDisney for 3 days.

  • Lewis (12): Osteosarcoma left knee. Chemotherapy and surgery to replace knee and tibia. Relapse with secondaries in the lung. Relapse chemotherapy. France for 3 days.

  • Albert (75); Diagnosed mesothelioma, recent pleurectomy.  Spain for 8 days.

  • Pam (66): Diagnosed mantle call lymphoma. Chemotherapy ongoing. Portugal for 15 days.

  • Stanley (68): Diagnosed prostate cancer with bony & nodal involvement, treatment ongoing.  Greece for 5 days.

  • David (76): Diagnosed non-small cell lung cancer. Relapsed with nodal involvement. Spain for 15 days.

  • Callum (14): Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.  Chemotherapy completed.  Relapse, chemotherapy followed by unrelated bone marrow transplant. Relapse, January 2004.  No ongoing medication other than prophylactic penicillin.  Portugal for 14 days.

  • Pauline (11): Osteosarcoma right leg. Resected titanium prosthesis inserted. Secondaries in Lung , relapse chemotherapy completed. Portugal for 7 days.

  • Chris (44): Epitheloid Hemangioendothelioma liver and lungs. Chemotherapy completed. Now no medication and stable. Sweden for 3 days.

  • Wilf (67): Diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme 3 months ago. Resection followed by radiotherapy. Travelling to France for 7 days.

  • Olive (2): Diagnosed occipital glioma aged 5 months.  Resection and chemotherapy.  Relapse, resection and chemotherapy.  Florida for 10 days.

  • Will (8): Diagnosed hepatic rhabdomyosarcoma aged 7.  Resection and recently completed chemotherapy.  Holland for 8 days.

  • Blake (9): Congenital heart disease diagnosed at birth. Surgery at 3 months old. Surgery stent for coarctation of aorta, aortic valve replacement with mechanical valve. Greece for 7 days.

  • Tracy (12): Ewing's sarcoma femur. Resection femur and endoprosthesis inserted. Chemotherapy completed. Recurrence in lungs, commenced chemotherapy. Now on Etoposide. Sweden for 3 days.

  • Sarah (11): Gastrointestinal tumour with liver involvement, resection to remove 80% of stomach, relapse, surgery and lumpectomy, Glivec ongoing. USA 16 days.

  • Keith (14): Septo-optic dysplasia at birth leading to hypopituitarism and some loss of sight. Hormone replacement therapy ongoing. Tenerife for 14 days.

  • Victor (56): Mesothelioma left lung. Completed radio & chemotherapy, now no medication. Med Cruise for 17 days.

  • Matthew (11) Diagnosed Cohn's disease 39 months ago. Immunotherapy and Ileostomy. Myelodysplasia associated with monosomy 7 syndrome diagnosed 5 months ago. Bone marrow transplant planned. Eurodisney for 6 days.

  • Bernard (15): Diagnosed rhabdomyosarcoma testicle and spine 7 months ago. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy completed.  Recurrence followed by radiotherapy.  Medications include: Sevredol, Celecoxib, Fentanyl patch. EuroDisney for 6 days.

  • Donald (59): Diagnosed renal cell carcinoma with bony metastases, commenced Provera and ongoing. Also ulcerative colitis with pan-proctocolectomy 3 months ago. Greece for 15 days.

  • Edwin (19): Diagnosed intracranial germ cell tumour 18 months ago, now with spinal involvement.  Chemotherapy & radiotherapy completed 1 month ago. Spain for 10 days.

  • Charlene (75): Diagnosed breast cancer with bony metastases 6 months ago.  Radiotherapy completed.  Medications include zoledronic acid, Oxycontin and Arimedex. Guernsey for 7 days.

  • Jodi (6): Optic chiasm glioma, chemotherapy completed.  Now registered blind, Florida for 16 days.

  • Olivia (34):   Renal failure 1995, kidney transplant.  Acute pyelonephritis 1997.   Now Burkett's lymphoma, chemotherapy completed. Tacrolimus, Enalapril, EPO, Atenolol, Renagel, HRT ongoing.  Turkey for 8 days.

  • Keith (60):  Hilar cholangiocarcinoma stent insertion but no treatment to date.  Mediterranean cruise for 13 days.
